Hello, I’m Kathy Gyselinck, Chief Operations Officer (COO) at Southeast Mortgage. With 34 years of experience in banking and in the mortgage banking industry, I have developed many skills that I believe have led me to where I am today. Straight out of college, I knew I wanted to work in the financial industry in some capacity. I had the opportunity to work on a marketing project for a bank shortly after graduating from the University of Georgia in 1984. Go Dawgs!
Fast forward nine years to being a part of the original formation of Southeast Mortgage in 1993. After the reorganization in 1998, I came back on board in 2002 as Vice President to assist in employee recruitment and growth of the company. I organized and ran several divisions of the company including Human Resources/Recruitment, Legal & Compliance, Marketing and Client Relations, Public Relations, Information Technology and Builder Operations. Throughout the years, I became Senior Vice President, Executive Vice President and in 2017 was promoted to COO (which is my biggest professional accomplishment to date).
I am very passionate about the growth and success of Southeast Mortgage and its employees. The impact we have had on our employees and their families over so many years is something I take pride in. From a young age my father was my mentor as it relates to business. He was a successful manager and entrepreneur, and I learned early on about work habits and work ethics from him. I have no doubt that he set the foundation for me on what it took to be successful in a career and in business.
When I am not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I am a big Georgia Bulldog fan, so in the fall I spend a lot of time attending or watching football games. In the winter months I enjoy weekend mountain getaways with friends, which always includes a couple of wine tasting stops. I am passionate about supporting my church and a few other charities. I care most about giving to charities that support children’s cancer hospitals and research.

A Little More About Me
I was part of the original group of founders of Southeast Mortgage in 1993. Over the course of several years I helped form many of the departments we currently have. Today I serve the role as Chief Operating Officer. I’m responsible for the day to day operations of the company and ensuring all of our operational processes and efficiencies are in place to drive the strategic direction of the company.
